Palomar Hills Magazine My name is Ryan Reed and I had the pleasure of meeting some of you the other night at the board meeting. We will be launching the first issue of Palomar Living in October! It is a social magazine exclusively for the residents of Palomar. This magazine is a collaborative effort between your neighbors, local businesses, and the company I work with N2 Publishing. The publication will feature articles, stories, and pictures from residents in your neighborhood, and it's provided free of charge to the community. Please join us for our kick-off meeting to learn more about this free monthly magazine. Monday August 29th at 6:30 pm at Travinia. (3401 Nicholasville Road next to the Cheesecake Factory) Anyone is welcome to attend, whether you are interested in social activities, writing or taking pictures for the magazine, or just want to meet your neighbors. Travinia will be hosting us and providing a sampling of their menu. We ask that anyone who attends pay $5 to the server and for your own cocktails. Tipping on your drink tab is encouraged but not required. In exchange you will be asked to complete some feedback on the evening regarding the restaurant and the food. This information will be used to write a review of the restaurant that will appear in our Palomar Living magazine. Please RSVP to ryan.reed@n2pub.com as space for the event is limited. If you are a business owner who would like to take advantage of the opportunity to reach Palomar residents by advertising in the monthly magazine, please contact me to get a discounted rate. The traffic signal infrastructure is being upgraded and there is fiber optic cable being installed along MOW. Upon completion the signal heads will be located on mast arms for increased visibility. There will be a flashing yellow arrow installed along with the vehicular detection changing from loops to camera. This work should be completed in 3-4 weeks. AM delay for Lyon Dr approach turning onto MOW - During peak travel times the main approach (MOW) is allotted more time then the side streets (Lyon Dr). The concept is to provide additional time to serve the approach with the larger vehicular volumes. The upgrades currently being done will allow the signal to function more efficiently and decrease the delay for Lyon Dr. Prior to completion of the signal upgrades Traffic Engineering will look at the signal to ensure it is currently functioning properly and evaluate any options to adjust the signal timing.
