Guest Speaker - Property Valuation Administrator, David O’Neill, will speak at the Monday, October 10 board meeting, 7 pm at the Clubhouse.  The PVA is responsible for determining the fair cash value of your property which, in part, determines the amount of property tax you owe.  Palomar residents are invited to attend.

Pickleball - Interested in learning pickleball? Now is your chance! We’re hosting an adult Pickleball Open House at the tennis courts on Sunday, October 9 and Sunday, October 23 starting at 2 pm.  Paddles and balls will be provided along with some instruction on pickleball basics. Play will be on a doubles, round robin format. Everyone will get a chance to swing a racket and get a feel for the game.

Pickleball continues to grow in popularity with courts springing up around the county. A great way for young and old to burn calories, increase flexibility and get to know your neighbors. We hope all will want to try out this new fun sport.  Please contact Peter Woollam  at 859.489.7507 with any pickleball related questions.

Fourth Quarter Dues -  Quarterly fees of $180 were due on  October 1, 2016.  There is a mail slot located in the front door of the clubhouse so that payments can be dropped off after hours.  Payments must be received no later than October 15 to avoid a late fee.

Kids Halloween Bash!  A Halloween Spooktacular party is being planned for 10 am on Saturday, October 29th. Put on your favorite Halloween costume and join us for a lot of tricks and treats!  It's going to be a morning of Halloween fun!  Details will follow..

Private Property - Please remember to stay on the sidewalks and not cut-through or ride bikes on private homeowner property.

Neighborhood Alert! The Palomar Hills office was notified that a home on Palmetto Drive was burglarized last weekend.  The perpetrators entered the home, in the early morning hours, by using a garage door opener that was left in a vehicle parked outside.

Take Precautions to Protect Yourself and Others:
  • Talk to your neighbors, keep doors locked, and garage doors closed at all times.
  • Always lock vehicles that are parked outside. Remove valuables and anything that would draw attention. Remove garage door openers and car keys.
  • Parents, do not leave children home alone as most burglaries happen in the daylight hours.  Pick your child up at the bus stop or have someone escort them home.
  • Walkers, you can be the best Neighborhood Watch.  Please report suspicious vehicles or activities to the police.
  • Never open the door to your home to anyone you do not recognize.
  • Please help prevent crime by paying attention to what is happening on your street. Do not hesitate to report suspicious people, activities, or vehicles to Lexington police at 258.3600 or 911 during emergencies.

Solicitors -
The office has received numerous calls from residents who have been approached by solicitors in the neighborhood.  Please remind them of the Palomar Hills' no-soliciting policy and ask them to leave the neighborhood or call the non-emergency police dispatch for assistance.

Concert in the Park - Saturday, October 15th!  Food trucks will begin serving at 5 pm.   THE QUACK  will play from 6 pm - 9 pm .
