Neighborhood Presidents Elect Board Members The annual Board of Directors elections were held on May 22nd. Neighborhood Presidents elected Marty Solomon, Erin White, Jay Hierro, and Brad Kerkhoff to serve as members of the 2017-2019 Board of Directors. We also want to extend a special thank you to outgoing board President, Jay Sudkamp for his 8 years of service to our community. He has given countless hours to make Palomar Hills a more attractive and enjoyable place to live. We will miss his valuable input and extraordinary effort given on behalf of the residents of our community. The Association is fortunate to have outstanding board members that share their time, talent, and experience on behalf of all residents of Palomar Hills. We express our sincere appreciation to them for their willingness to serve the community. Drivers Discount The American Automobile Club offers a valuable, free, monthly 4-hour driver training class. AAA membership is not required. After taking the class, you can contact your auto insurance company and become eligible for a 3-year discount on your insurance. If you are interested in enrolling, call Daniel Wheeler at 425-5709. Daniel will add you to his list and call you when the next class is scheduled to see if you can attend. Tree Trimming City ordinance states that street trees must be limbed-up to allow seven feet of clearance above sidewalks and twelve feet above the street. Homeowners whose street trees do not meet this requirement are also out of compliance with Palomar deed-restrictions. Please double check your street trees to see if they need to be trimmed. There are many walkers in the neighborhood who would appreciate your efforts! Ash Trees Residents living on Inglewood Court, Palm Grove Court, Palomar Court, Peppertree Court, Peppertree Drive, Silvertree Court, Sweetberry Court, and Sweetleaf Court most likely have an Ash as a street tree. If you have not had your Ash tree treated, please consider doing so. The Ash tree borer insect has killed millions of Ash Trees throughout the northeast, and are now in the neighborhood. Palomar Boulevard Homeowners Many of the burning bushes planted in the easement along Palomar Boulevard are overgrown and block the view of traffic and sidewalks for pedestrians. LFUCG Code Enforcement is asking that residents trim their bushes to a maximum of 4 feet or replace them with a less invasive species.
