OUT WITH THE OLD - IN WITH THE NEW
The Board of Directors and Neighborhood Presidents allocated funds in the 2011 budget to purchase new playground equipment for the park. Recently, the sixteen year old playground equipment was removed and replaced by neighborhood staff and volunteers. The new, commercial grade play set is made by Little Tikes and can be used by kids of all ages. It includes two slides, curly climber, sliding pole, covered fort, and swings.Palomar Hills was awarded a $1,000 grant that was made by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council. Funds were appropriated from public funds, which are raised from taxes, fees, and other governmental revenues.

The Association is committed to having a safe, quality, playground. We appreciate the efforts of Playground Committee members who donated their time to research and develop a plan suitable for the children of Palomar Hills. If you are interested in getting involved with kids social events, please contact activephkids@gmail.com.Let's go outside and play!
Residents are welcome to utilize the benches and grills located throughout the park for picnics and other outdoor activities, however please avoid feeding the ducks in and around the ponds. We don't want to attract more ducks than we already have; they make a mess in the pool area, contribute to algae growth in the ponds, and if overfed, cannot easily escape animals that prey on them.
